15,000 visitors to the exhibition by Kim Simonsson

The Academy of Ceramics Gmunden programme is extremely popular. The Moss People exhibition by Kim Simonsson alone – with the Krieger family from Eichgraben in Lower Austria – has welcomed 15,000 guests since mid-April.

Gmundner Keramik CEO Andreas Glatz and curator Genoveva Rückert (OÖ LKG) guided the art-loving family through the manufactory and the exhibition and are convinced by the concept of this special format: „With the Academy of Ceramics, we can show that tradition and innovation are not a contradiction in terms.“

With the Academy of Ceramics Gmunden, OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH and Gmundner Keramik have established a project dedicated to the dialogue between one of the largest ceramic manufacturers in Central Europe and contemporary, international artists.

The current exhibition can be visited free of charge until 7 September before another master of ceramic art, Elmar Trenkwalder, is shown in autumn.
